30-Year-Old Man Detained Following Fatal Blaze in Melbourne Residence

A 30-year-old man has been taken into custody following a fatal house fire in St Kilda, Melbourne. Emergency services responded to the incident on Chapel Street around 8.40pm on Wednesday evening. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a critically injured male inside the property, but unfortunately, he could not be saved. The victim has not yet been officially identified. Authorities are treating both the fire and the man’s death as suspicious. The arrested individual, also residing in St Kilda, was apprehended after police executed a search warrant at a different location. He is set to undergo questioning as the investigation continues.
