A woman has been detained following an alleged stabbing incident in Bairnsdale, a regional city in Victoria, which left four men injured. The chaotic events unfolded around 9:50 PM on a Tuesday evening when the woman, exhibiting erratic behaviour, approached patrons at a supermarket located on Nicholson Street.
The incident escalated when she allegedly stabbed a male employee in the abdomen before moving to a car park of a nearby fast-food outlet. There, after requesting a lift, an altercation ensued with another man, resulting in a similar attack where he was also stabbed in the stomach.
The woman then entered a hotel on Macleod Street where she assaulted a man in his 50s, causing non-life-threatening cuts to his arm. Shortly after, at the railway station, she is reported to have stabbed a man in his 20s in the shoulder.
Authorities swiftly responded and apprehended the 21-year-old woman from Ravenhall. She is currently cooperating with police investigations. The supermarket worker was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not life-threatening, while the other victims received treatment for minor wounds.
As investigations continue, the community is left shaken by the sudden outbreak of violence.
