A Queensland mother, Teegan Walker, is living in fear after her car was destroyed in a sparkler bomb incident outside her home in Hervey Bay. The attack follows months of disturbing phone calls from an unknown source, which she initially dismissed as pranks. Walker’s Ford Falcon was completely burnt, along with her young child’s pram and booster seat inside the vehicle.
The unsettling nature of the calls escalated over time, with Walker reporting that when she answered, the callers would play alarming recordings. One disturbing message featured a fake news report about a stabbing, which she initially perceived as a cruel joke. However, when she chose to stop responding to the calls, they transformed into more sinister voicemails that included themes from horror movies. In one recorded message, she heard the chilling words: “One, two, Freddy’s coming for you. Three, four, better lock your door.”
The situation reached a critical point when Walker’s car was attacked. In response, police arrested a 19-year-old man for arson and are investigating a potential connection between the incendiary act and the harassing phone calls. Walker expressed her deep concern for her safety and the wellbeing of her family, fearful that the perpetrator might return. “It could have been our house instead of our car,” she said. “In a way, we’re sort of lucky but still, very scary.”
