An incident transpired on Sommerville Road in Hornsby Heights shortly after 10.40am today. According to police reports, a young girl was discovered unconscious on the roadway after being struck by a Holden SUV. Emergency services attended to her on-site before transporting her to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where she remains in critical condition. The driver of the SUV did not sustain any injuries and was subsequently taken to Hornsby Hospital for standard testing. Authorities have established a crime scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
