A couple in Adelaide experienced a frightening encounter with a rogue driver during a recent incident on the Salisbury Highway. Brittaney Elliot, a mother of three, was a passenger while her partner was driving when they noticed a red SUV behaving erratically. This alarming behaviour escalated when the aggressive driver exited his vehicle and approached theirs at a traffic intersection near Mawson Lakes, roughly 13 kilometres from the central business district.
Elliot recounted her terror as the man, visibly agitated, shouted threats, urging them to exit their car for a confrontation. The situation turned violent when he smashed the driver’s side window with his fist, causing injuries to her partner, who suffered cuts from the shattered glass. Following this attack, the man fled the scene, leaving the couple shaken and their vehicle severely damaged.
Now facing repair costs and the added stress of extra work shifts to cover expenses, Elliot expressed her concern over the impact on her family time. The incident has been reported to the authorities, yet the driver remains unidentified, prompting the couple to seek community assistance in locating him. Despite the ordeal, Elliot maintains a sense of hope that justice will be served, acknowledging the importance of safety on the roads.
Law enforcement officials emphasise that in similar situations, individuals should avoid engaging in confrontations and instead remain within their vehicles while contacting authorities for assistance.
