Chinese President Xi Jinping has asserted that his country will not be intimidated amid the ongoing trade tensions with the United States, which have had a detrimental impact on global markets and raised concerns about a potential worldwide recession. In a recent meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Beijing, Xi articulated that a trade war results in no victors and warned that opposing global collaboration could ultimately result in self-isolation.
Xi emphasised that China’s progress over the past 70 years has been built on its own efforts and self-reliance rather than external assistance. He confidently stated that China is undeterred by unfair restrictions, affirming that the nation will maintain its resolve regardless of external challenges. The President concluded by highlighting that China is committed to focusing on its internal affairs and remaining steadfast in its confidence.
