Two employees of a service station in Queensland were recently held hostage by a gang equipped with hunting knives and crowbars. The incident unfolded early in the morning as one worker was stocking milk and the other was at the register when five masked intruders burst in. Disturbing footage captured by 9News reveals the attackers spent over five minutes terrorising the workers, who pleaded for their release.

One of the assailants brandished a knife towards an employee, before they were forcibly taken to the backroom, where the gang demanded the keys to the safe and cigarette display. As the workers were unable to provide the necessary codes, the intruders eventually left but returned later. During this second confrontation, one worker triggered an alarm, prompting the attackers to flee in the worker’s vehicle.

The police are actively investigating the incident and believe it may be connected to a related armed robbery at a BP service station in Thornlands that occurred hours earlier. In that robbery, attackers also wielded crowbars and made off with significant quantities of cigarettes. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
