A tragic incident occurred in Queensland when a 36-year-old woman lost her life after falling 80 metres down a waterfall at Mapleton Falls National Park on the Sunshine Coast. Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 3.28pm yesterday, where they found the woman suffering from severe injuries and in a critical condition.
An 18-year-old male companion was also involved in the fall and was subsequently taken to Nambour Hospital with minor injuries. Queensland police have confirmed that they do not consider the woman’s death to be suspicious. This incident marks the third fatality at a waterfall in the Sunshine Coast area within this year.
