Police are conducting an investigation following the tragic death of a woman in a collision in northern Victoria last night. According to reports, the incident unfolded around 8:30 PM in the town of Yarranand, where two individuals were engaged in a physical altercation.
A 46-year-old woman attempted to intervene in the confrontation. Shortly thereafter, a man entered a vehicle parked nearby. As he drove away, he allegedly struck the woman who had tried to help. Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the site of the accident.
In the aftermath, law enforcement located the vehicle involved in the incident in Shepparton and arrested a man in Tatura, who was transported to a police station for questioning by detectives.
Authorities are appealing for anyone who witnessed the events to come forward and assist with the investigation.
