Emergency services responded to an industrial accident at the BlueScope facility in Hastings, Victoria, at 10:20 am. An air ambulance was dispatched to the site to provide medical assistance.
A spokesperson from the Country Fire Authority confirmed that the incident occurred but had no additional information to share at this time.
BlueScope operates a facility in Hastings that processes painted, coated, and uncoated steel. This location is situated on Western Port Bay and is approximately 58 kilometres southeast of Melbourne’s central business district.
Currently, WorkSafe is conducting an investigation into the incident.
