A woman in her twenties has been hospitalised with critical injuries following a suspected shooting incident in Toowoomba. Emergency services received reports of gunfire at a residence in North Toowoomba around 2pm and quickly dispatched police to the scene.
Upon arrival, paramedics confirmed that the woman sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds and was transported to Toowoomba Hospital, as reported by a spokesperson from the Queensland Ambulance Service.
In addition to the woman, two men were assessed at the location; one required evaluation for a head injury. However, neither of the men was taken to hospital for treatment.
In response to the incident, police have cordoned off West Street, between Mort Street and Bridge Streets, and have advised nearby residents to stay indoors as the situation develops. Authorities have indicated that their operation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
