A woman involved in a police confrontation in Melbourne earlier this month has been charged following her release from hospital. The incident occurred on April 4 when law enforcement attempted to stop a stolen Ford Fairmont in Mulgrave. During the encounter, the 28-year-old female passenger, allegedly armed with a gun, was shot through the car’s windshield by police.

The incident escalated into a 12-hour chase before it concluded. After being hospitalised for her injuries, she has now been charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated carjacking, motor vehicle theft, and attempted armed robbery. She is scheduled to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Additionally, a 27-year-old man accused of driving the vehicle faces a series of charges currently before the courts, including 21 offences such as reckless conduct endangering life and illegal possession of a firearm.
