A major manhunt is currently in progress following a violent attack on a woman at a petrol station in Dandenong, Melbourne, yesterday evening around 6:35 PM. The 29-year-old victim was targeted by three males, one of whom brandished a machete, while she was heading back to her vehicle after refuelling.
The assailants demanded her car keys, but the brave woman resisted, leading to a struggle during which she sustained injuries to her arm from the machete. Ultimately, the attackers made off with her SUV, fleeing the scene shortly after the confrontation.
Emergency services transported her to a nearby hospital, where her injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening. The suspects had arrived at the petrol station in a white Ford EcoSport that lacked registration plates, positioning themselves behind her vehicle while she was filling up.
Descriptions of the attackers have been released:
1. The first male is Caucasian, aged approximately 14 to 20, wearing a black hooded top, tan trousers, white socks, and black thongs featuring a white Nike logo.
2. The second male, also Caucasian and around the same age, was dressed in a grey hooded top with the drawstrings pulled tightly across his face, sporting a dark face mask, dark cap, black puffer vest, and trousers, coupled with striped Adidas thongs.
3. The third suspect is similarly Caucasian and within the same age bracket, identifiable by a light grey hooded top, dark beanie, grey tracksuit pants featuring a logo, and white runners.
Additionally, a fourth individual stayed in the driver’s seat of the Ford throughout the ordeal, playing a role in the getaway.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspects to come forward as the search continues.
