In a shocking incident in Duncraig, northern Perth, a woman was asleep in her bedroom when a car crashed into her home. The collision, which took place around 9:25 PM, involved a 32-year-old man driving a white Toyota Hilux. It is alleged that he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plough through a fence before crashing into the residence on Poynter Drive.
The force of the impact led to a portion of the wall collapsing onto the 61-year-old woman, who was in bed at the time. Emergency services were called, and she was promptly transported to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment.
Following the crash, the home was seen covered with plastic and tape, as debris, including bricks and broken fencing, scattered across the yard. The site of the accident now resembles a disaster area while the damage was assessed and repaired.
Authorities have charged the driver for failing to stop and provide assistance after causing bodily harm, as well as for failing to disclose his identity in connection with the property damage. He is scheduled to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court on April 23 to face these charges.
