The Parramatta Eels have secured the signature of rising talent Tallyn Da Silva, who is set to leave the Wests Tigers. This decision comes in light of Da Silva’s recent agreement to explore opportunities with other clubs, following an official notification last week. The 20-year-old had until June 30 to complete his mid-season transfer, prompting his management to initiate discussions with various teams starting Wednesday.

Within this competitive landscape, the Eels and Manly were leading contenders for Da Silva’s recruitment, alongside Newcastle, who were the first to express interest in his early release from the Tigers. Tigers’ head coach, Benji Marshall, also noted the club’s intentions to extend the contract of their captain, Api Koroisau.

Although there were speculations surrounding a potential move to the Cowboys, Da Silva showed a preference to stay connected to his family in Sydney. Manly was informed on Sunday afternoon that Da Silva would instead be joining Parramatta, with a formal agreement anticipated to be finalised on Monday.

His transfer marks a significant shift, as Da Silva is following in the footsteps of fellow Tigers junior, Lachlan Galvin, who also departed from the club this year. This move signifies a new chapter for the young star, heralding exciting prospects with the Eels as he embarks on this next phase of his career.
