Victorian farmers will not face an increase in the contentious Emergency Services Levy, as announced by Premier Jacinta Allan, who outlined a series of drought relief initiatives. Addressing the media in Ballarat, she announced immediate support measures for farmers grappling with severe drought conditions across the state.
In light of the significantly deteriorating circumstances that farmers currently endure, all farmers will maintain their current rate for the Emergency Services Levy for the financial year 2024/25. Allan acknowledged the pressing challenges faced by agricultural producers, stating that the rate they are paying now will remain unchanged in the upcoming financial year.
