Peter Dutton, the Opposition Leader and MP for Dickson, has faced vandalism at his Brisbane electorate office while he campaigns in western Sydney. The exterior of his office in Arana Hills was defaced with words such as ‘maggot’ and ‘scum’ written in black paint overnight. Queensland Police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are calling for any witnesses to come forward.

By the afternoon, much of the graffiti had been cleared away. Dutton’s office was contacted for a response regarding the vandalism. During this time, Dutton was engaging with voters in Sydney’s outer-western suburbs, focusing on capturing seats from the Labor Party. He participated in the Sikh Games, a vibrant cultural and sporting event that draws in large crowds.

Earlier in the day, Dutton also attended a Good Friday service with the Maronite Christian community in the south-west of Sydney. In a parallel effort, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese took a brief break from campaigning to walk his dog, Toto.

As both leaders gear up for the next phase of their campaigns, they are expected to intensify their outreach in anticipation of pre-poll voting, which starts on Tuesday following the Easter break.
