A driver lost control of her Toyota and crashed into the Kilburn Community Centre in Adelaide during a busy lunchtime, narrowly avoiding a local gathering. The incident occurred around midday, with volunteer Jacky Muir, who was inside for a karaoke session, describing the scene as “just horrific.” She recalled the chaos as debris fell, and the screams of two women filled the air.
Emergency services arrived promptly to treat the 49-year-old driver for leg fractures before transporting her to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Two other individuals sustained minor injuries. The Port Enfield Council, which oversees the community centre, is providing support to those affected by the incident.
The damage to the building was significant, with shattered glass, a collapsed ceiling, and impacted bricks and windows reported. Authorities are currently investigating the crash to determine the cause of the accident.
