A driver of a luxury Aston Martin Vantage has had his licence revoked for a year following an incident in Adelaide where he allegedly evaded police before crashing into a bus shelter. The dramatic event was captured on security footage, showing the high-performance vehicle veering from a side street, narrowly avoiding another car, and then mounting the footpath to collide forcefully with the bus shelter in Gilles Plains.

Local resident Chris Christiansen described the impact as extremely loud, indicating that the car must have been travelling at significant speed. Another witness, Steve Jetson, felt the crash vibrate through his home, stating it sounded more severe than a mere fender bender.

Police reports claim that just before the crash, officers attempted to pull over the Aston Martin as it left a nearby hotel car park at high speed. Instead of stopping, the driver reportedly lost control shortly after. Fortunately, the 50-year-old driver was unharmed in the incident. He has faced multiple charges, including driving without a licence, aggravated driving without due care, and driving dangerously.

This intersection has a reputation for traffic congestion, making the severity of the crash particularly alarming to local residents. Christiansen remarked on the frequency of fast-moving vehicles in the area, but the sound of this crash was notably shocking.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
