The unemployment rate in Australia has held steady at 4.1% ahead of the Reserve Bank’s upcoming interest rate decision. Recent figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reveal that this rate has remained unchanged in April, which aligns with economists’ predictions.
Sean Crick, the head of labour statistics at ABS, noted that while employment rose by 89,000 individuals, the number of unemployed persons also increased by 6,000. This balance led to the unemployment rate being consistent at 4.1% for the month.
