On Sunday evening at 6.30pm, a collision occurred between a Fuso Canter truck and a Hyundai i20 at the intersection of Bellemere Road and King Street. Tragically, two female passengers in the Hyundai lost their lives at the scene of the accident. A baby boy, who was also a passenger in the vehicle, was rushed to hospital and is currently in serious but stable condition.
The female driver of the Hyundai sustained minor injuries from the incident. The truck driver, a 42-year-old man from Caboolture, did not suffer any injuries but was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Investigations are ongoing, and police are appealing for witnesses or individuals with dashcam or CCTV footage of the crash to step forward.
