Two teenagers have been apprehended following an early morning burglary at a tobacconist in Lane Cove, Sydney. At around 3:50am, police responded to reports of a ram raid at the TSG tobacconist on Longueville Road, where the front windows had been smashed. CCTV footage captured a black Volkswagen Golf reversing through the shop’s entrance, with two masked individuals seen running behind the counter and allegedly stealing various packages of cigarettes.

A crime scene was established, and a description of the stolen vehicle was circulated among police units. The car was reportedly taken from a residence in Emu Plains the previous night. Shortly after the incident, a police officer spotted the Volkswagen on Walter Street in St Marys around 5:45am. When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver fled, leading to a pursuit that ended in Werrington, where the car collided with a police vehicle.

A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station. As it stands, no charges have been laid against them at this time.
