A man and a woman are currently in critical condition following a car crash that occurred during a police chase in the south-western region of Sydney last night. The incident unfolded at approximately 7:20 PM when police attempted to pull over an unregistered Ford Falcon on McBurney Road in Cabramatta. Despite the police’s efforts to stop the vehicle, the driver allegedly refused to comply and continued to drive away.
The pursuit continued onto Railway Parade in Canley Vale, where the Ford collided with a power pole. Emergency services arrived promptly, treating the 33-year-old female driver and her 35-year-old male passenger at the scene before swiftly transporting them to Liverpool Hospital, both in critical condition.
In the aftermath of the crash, authorities have established a crime scene to facilitate an investigation. A critical incident investigation team has been assigned to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with oversight from the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission to ensure transparency and accountability.
Police are appealing to the public for any additional information that may aid in the investigation.
