Two men were arrested following a dramatic police chase that started on the Bruce Highway at Murrumba Downs, north of Brisbane. Reports indicated shots were fired from a black Commodore around 1:20 PM yesterday. The car, believed to have been stolen, sped north, recklessly weaving through traffic and narrowly avoiding collisions.

As the car fled, police launched a major emergency operation, deploying a helicopter and tyre spikes in an attempt to halt the vehicle. Eventually, the suspects abandoned the car and escaped on foot through a private property in Armstrong Creek.

The police dog squad tracked the pair to an abandoned shed, where they were discovered attempting to hide inside barrels. The men, 26-year-olds Adam Slade and Tyger Titmarsh, were apprehended and charged with multiple serious driving offences.

Upon searching the stolen vehicle, police reported finding no firearms, but it was revealed that the suspects allegedly discharged a fire extinguisher and discarded a tyre while on the move.

Both individuals made brief court appearances: Slade is currently in hospital following a police dog bite and is set to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court tomorrow. In the meantime, Titmarsh’s case has been adjourned until September 18.
