Two unidentified men are evading authorities after a home invasion and assault in Melbourne’s inner suburbs over the weekend. The incident occurred around 1.30 am on Saturday when the suspects, riding bicycles, stopped outside a house on Drummond Street in Carlton.
Following a heated verbal exchange with the residents, one of the men confronted a resident, pushing past him and entering the home. Inside, they caused significant damage and assaulted a 22-year-old man, who sustained a minor injury but did not require hospitalisation. Both offenders then fled the scene heading north along Drummond Street.
Police have released CCTV footage featuring one of the suspects wielding a baseball bat. Descriptions provided indicate that the first suspect is a Caucasian male in his 20s or 30s, dressed in a black hoodie, green/khaki pants, and a baseball cap. The second suspect also appears to be Caucasian, of a similar age range, and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts, and a baseball cap, along with a backpack.
Authorities are actively searching for these individuals.
