Two individuals have tragically drowned, and a significant search operation is ongoing for a missing swimmer at Little Bay Beach in Sydney amid large swells impacting the New South Wales coastline. Emergency services were alerted to the scene at approximately 1:10 PM after a man was spotted struggling in the water.

The search effort involves a police helicopter, Surf Life Saving NSW, NSW Ambulance paramedics, and lifeguards from Randwick Council. Authorities are appealing for information regarding the missing person and encourage anyone with relevant details to contact Eastern Beaches Police or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.

In a related incident, two drownings have occurred recently due to the dangerous surf conditions. One victim, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, drowned off Middle Head in Mosman after 10 AM. Additionally, a 58-year-old man lost his life after being swept into the water while fishing at Wollongong Harbour in the Illawarra region around 6 AM. Reports suggest he was fishing on a rock wall when he was overwhelmed by the waves. Despite being rescued from the water, he sadly could not be resuscitated.

As the search continues, the local community is reminded to exercise caution in such hazardous conditions.
