A brawl involving approximately 50 individuals erupted at a Meriton construction site on Sexton Avenue in Castle Hill around 7am. Witnesses reported a violent encounter, with footage capturing participants exchanging punches. In one instance, a man was seen being kicked in the head with a steel-capped boot, while another was struck with a hard hat.

By the time police arrived, the altercation had mostly subsided. Paramedics transported two men, aged 43 and 55, to the hospital due to minor injuries, but both have since been discharged. Subsequently, two individuals were taken into custody at Castle Hill Police Station around 11am; however, no charges were filed as authorities are working to identify additional participants.

In a statement, Meriton clarified that the contractors involved in the skirmish have been dismissed, emphasizing their commitment to safety and disapproval of any violent behaviour on their job sites, including actions by subcontractors and visitors. The company confirmed that no direct employees were implicated in the incident, which took place outside the construction site, and expressed relief that there were no serious injuries resulting from the conflict. Police intervention was deemed appropriate, and swift action followed with the termination of the contractors involved.
