Donald Trump has appointed Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former television personality and prosecutor, as the new ambassador to Greece under his administration. Guilfoyle, who previously hosted a programme on Fox News, was in a relationship with Donald Trump Jr., although reports of their separation emerged just hours before the announcement.
Prior to her relationship with Trump Jr., Guilfoyle was married to Gavin Newsom, the former mayor of San Francisco, between 2001 and 2006. In a statement regarding her nomination, Trump praised Guilfoyle for her strong ties and loyalty, stating, “For many years, Kimberly has been a close friend and ally. Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics, along with her sharp intellect, make her supremely qualified to represent the United States and safeguard its interests abroad.”
Following the announcement, Guilfoyle expressed her eagerness for the Senate to confirm her appointment. She stated her intention to promote the Trump agenda while fostering positive relations with Greece. “As ambassador, I look forward to delivering on the Trump agenda, supporting our Greek allies, and ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity,” she said.
Donald Trump Jr. also congratulated Guilfoyle, affirming his pride in her commitment to the United States and expressing confidence in her potential as a leader under the America First policy.
