A tragic accident involving an e-scooter in Queensland has resulted in the death of a 12-year-old girl. The incident occurred in the Lockyer Valley town of Laidley, located approximately 70 kilometres west of Brisbane, while the girl was riding south on Vaux Street.
At around 3pm, she unexpectedly fell into the path of a vehicle, specifically a grey Holden Barina that was travelling in the same direction. Despite the immediate response, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The girl was identified as a local resident of Laidley.
Authorities are now conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Fortunately, the driver and passenger of the vehicle were unharmed. Queensland Police have released a statement, confirming the involvement of the Forensic Crash Unit in the inquiry and urging anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage related to the incident to come forward with information.
