Tourists visiting K’Gari, a popular island in Queensland, are being advised to exercise caution during the upcoming Easter school holidays, following reports of three women being bitten by dingoes. The Queensland Ambulance confirmed that the women, all in their twenties, sustained minor leg injuries from the incident, which occurred around 2.30pm local time.
Fortunately, the women opted not to seek hospital treatment. This incident marks yet another dingo attack at K’Gari in 2023. In light of these events, visitors are strongly encouraged to adhere to “dingo-safe” practices to ensure their safety while enjoying the island. Key recommendations include walking in groups, carrying a stick for protection, and avoiding running, as sudden movements can provoke the wildlife.
Staying aware and prepared is vital for a safe and enjoyable experience on the island.
