Authorities in Sweden have confirmed that three individuals lost their lives in a shooting incident in the heart of Uppsala. This tragic event unfolded near Vaksala Square, roughly 60 kilometres north of Stockholm, around 5pm on Tuesday (1am AEST). Multiple eyewitnesses reported hearing gunfire in the vicinity, prompting an urgent response from local police.
Initially, officers indicated that several individuals had sustained injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. However, a couple of hours later, the situation escalated when police announced that three people had succumbed to their injuries, and the case was being classified as a murder investigation.
