Three men affiliated with a car dealership in Sydney’s north-west have been charged for allegedly issuing fraudulent pink slips for 22 vehicles. The accusations state that these pink slips were issued despite the cars having significant safety defects, including the lack of functional brakes and airbags.

Between January and May this year, it’s claimed that the men generated false pink slip reports, essentially bypassing crucial safety inspections. Their illegal activities came to light during a police investigation concerning two heavily modified vehicles in Seven Hills. These particular cars were reportedly cleared with pink slips in April, despite the removal of vital safety features such as anti-lock braking systems and a suspension that did not meet the required safety standards.

Following this discovery, police laid charges against the three men, aged 39, 40, and 42, for knowingly creating false and misleading documents under state law, as well as breaching their authority as examiners. Additionally, the two older individuals face extra charges related to the issuance of false inspection reports.

All three men are required to appear at Parramatta Local Court today following the issuance of court attendance notices.
