In December 2025, three men were charged in connection with a brazen daytime shooting outside a gym in Gregory Hills, Sydney. The incident occurred around 8:30am on December 5, when two armed men allegedly approached a 48-year-old man outside the World Gym and fired twelve shots at him. Fortunately, the victim was unharmed and managed to escape while the assailants fled the scene in a red Range Rover.
Shortly after the shooting, authorities located the abandoned SUV at Macquarie Grove Road in Cobbitty. Upon investigation, police discovered clothing, masks, cloned number plates, and two pistols concealed in nearby bushland.
On March 30, police executed a search warrant in Parramatta, resulting in the arrest of a 40-year-old man, who now faces charges of attempted murder and orchestrating a criminal group. Simultaneously, another operation in Burwood led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man on similar charges, including attempted murder. Both individuals were denied bail and are scheduled to appear in court on May 28.
Additionally, on the following day, a 38-year-old man was apprehended in Silverwater and charged with multiple offences related to the shooting. His bail hearing is set for that day. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to gather evidence and pursue leads related to the case.
The alarming nature of the incident has raised concerns about public safety, underscoring the need for vigilance in preventing gun violence in the community.
