On February 15, 1969, a woman named Vickie Jones was taken into custody in Florida for impersonating the iconic Aretha Franklin during a concert. Jones’s performance as the Queen of Soul was remarkably authentic, to the extent that audience members did not seek refunds. During her court appearance following the arrest, the judge requested Jones to sing. Impressed by her vocal resemblance to Franklin, he ultimately decided to drop the charges against her.
