A man is currently being pursued in connection with a significant theft valued at over $100,000 from a high-end clothing store in Melbourne last month. The incident occurred around 4:20 AM on May 12, when the suspect allegedly used a hammer to shatter the glass door of a boutique located in South Yarra.
According to reports, the thief made off with a substantial amount of designer women’s garments, which included cashmere coats and Linda blazers. It appears that the stolen items were loaded into a supermarket trolley before being placed in the back of a silver Ford Falcon ute. Following this, the man drove in the direction of Yarra.
Authorities have released images of the suspect, who is believed to possess information pertinent to the case. They suspect that he may be involved in multiple recent break-ins across the Merri-bek and Fawkner regions as well. Descriptions detail the man as Caucasian, likely in his 40s, with a solid build. He was seen wearing a black face covering and a black cap during the incident.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect or the theft is encouraged to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or submit details online.
