A cherished therapy horse named Rosie, who has positively impacted the lives of over 100 children with disabilities in the past two years, has been reported stolen near Bendigo, Victoria. The black and white gypsy cob mare was taken from a property on Canny Road in Axedale between 8pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday.

Valued at $40,000, Rosie’s absence has raised concerns, particularly among the young individuals she has assisted. Police are actively seeking any witnesses who may have recorded footage from CCTV or dashcams, specifically looking for vehicles towing horse trailers in the Axedale, Heathcote, Strathfieldsaye, or Bendigo regions during the specified timeframe.

Leading Senior Constable Dan O’Bree has appealed to the public for information, emphasising the distress this incident has caused for many vulnerable children. “Rosie means an awful lot to these kids, and we want nothing more than to see her returned unharmed,” he stated, urging anyone with relevant details to come forward.

If you have any information regarding Rosie’s whereabouts, you are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or reach out online.
