Greens leader Adam Bandt is approaching the upcoming debate with a touch of cynicism. Ahead of the ABC broadcast, he expressed his concerns on X, critiquing both major parties for their failure to address pressing issues like dental care and negative gearing. Bandt commented, “It’s not a leaders’ debate, it’s a group hug as they take us further into housing hell,” highlighting a perceived lack of meaningful discourse.
He also suggested a humorous drinking game for viewers, recommending participants take a shot every time certain topics—such as negative gearing reform, dental services, and the push to stop coal and gas—are mentioned during the debate. He quipped, “You’ll stay sober as a judge,” insinuating these crucial issues are unlikely to be addressed by the leaders.
However, it’s worth noting that joining Bandt in this drinking game isn’t advisable.
