The Manly Sea Eagles are uniting in support of legendary fullback Graham Eadie, affectionately nicknamed ‘Wombat’, who is currently facing severe health challenges. Recently, the 72-year-old was hospitalised after experiencing two suspected seizures.
Eadie, who has been an integral figure in the rugby league community, moved from Woy Woy on the Central Coast to play for Manly as a teenager in 1971. He spent the bulk of his career with the Sea Eagles, racking up 237 games before heading to England for a stint with Halifax, totalling 72 games there. His remarkable contributions to the sport were recognised when he was inducted into the NRL Hall of Fame in 2018. Eadie not only secured four premiership titles with Manly in 1972, 1973, 1976, and 1978 but also won the prestigious Rothmans Medal in 1974.
