A 16-year-old boy is currently under police supervision in a hospital following a dramatic incident involving a stolen BMW in western Sydney. Shortly after midnight, the teenager allegedly drove the car through the front of a medical centre in St Marys after leading police on a chase.
The vehicle had reportedly been taken from a residence in Cambridge Park, with police first sighting it around 11:30 PM in the nearby suburb of Cranbrook. During the pursuit, authorities decided to terminate the chase due to safety concerns for the public.
Just after midnight, the stolen BMW collided with another vehicle, which had a female driver inside, on the Great Western Highway. The impact caused the second car to crash into the shop front of the medical facility. The woman was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure but has since been released.
The teenage driver sustained minor injuries and is currently hospitalised while under police guard. He is expected to face charges later today. This incident has raised significant concern over road safety and the dangers associated with police pursuits involving stolen vehicles.
