A teenager has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred during a house party in Chifley, Sydney, last Saturday night. Emergency services were alerted around 8.20pm on July 5, responding to reports of an altercation at a property on Carnegie Court.

It was reported that a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were outside when they were confronted by approximately 10 people. Among this group, two individuals were reportedly wielding machetes. The situation escalated, leading to the 16-year-old being attacked and subsequently stabbed multiple times before the assailants fled the scene.

Following the incident, the injured teen received medical attention for lacerations on his back and legs and was transported to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

In the aftermath, police apprehended a second 16-year-old boy, charging him with a variety of offences, including reckless wounding, possession of drugs, and possession of a weapon. He has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in court today as the investigation continues into the events surrounding the party.

Authorities are appealing to the public for any information. Those with dashcam or mobile phone footage are encouraged to reach out to Maroubra Police Station or contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
