A teenage boy has been charged following a stabbing incident that took place during a 16th birthday celebration north of Brisbane. The event occurred on Saturday night at Crichton Court in Morayfield, where at least one teenager is currently recovering in hospital, requiring multiple surgeries on his arm.
Reports indicate that around midnight, a group arrived in a white hatchback and allegedly disrupted the party armed with knives and machetes. This triggered a confrontation, leading to multiple injuries among the attendees, both teenagers and adults. An 18-year-old was taken to Caboolture Hospital with a significant arm injury but is now in stable condition, while a 30-year-old man declined hospital treatment after being assessed on-site. Another adolescent was also hospitalized before paramedics arrived.
Authorities suspect that additional injuries may have occurred during the altercation. In connection to the incident, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Burpengary East and arrested a 17-year-old male. He has been charged with grievous bodily harm and wounding, and has been refused bail, subsequently appearing in a Children’s Court.
Investigation into the matter is ongoing, and police are appealing for anyone who attended the party or possesses any video recordings of the event to come forward. The situation is under close scrutiny as officers work to gather further information about the incident.
