A teenager has been arrested following a stabbing incident involving two individuals, including a 14-year-old girl, at a shopping centre in Melbourne. The event unfolded at Pacific Epping around 9.20pm, prompting police to respond to reports of a brawl involving three girls.

According to detectives, the confrontation escalated when a security guard attempted to intervene and was stabbed in the stomach by one of the girls. During the chaotic scene, the 14-year-old girl was also allegedly chased and attacked. Both the girl and the injured security guard, a 19-year-old resident of Lalor, were subsequently transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The General Manager of Pacific Epping, Andrew Drivas, confirmed that the security guard is still receiving medical care. Drivas expressed a commitment to supporting the recovery of those involved while cooperating with the ongoing investigation by Victoria Police. He emphasised the centre’s priority for the safety and well-being of staff and visitors.

Early this morning, investigators conducted a search at a residence in the Whittlesea area, leading to the arrest of a 17-year-old girl. She faces multiple charges including intentionally causing serious injury, affray, assault with a weapon, and unlawful assault. The accused is scheduled to appear in children’s court at a future date.
