A 19-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital following a fall from the bonnet of a moving car in Perth’s eastern suburbs. The incident occurred on Arlunya Avenue in Cloverdale around 10pm last night, when neighbours were alerted by her screams and rushed outside to find her severely injured on the road.

According to reports, the 19-year-old driver, a friend of the victim, was behind the wheel of the Hyundai i30 when the young woman fell off the bonnet right in front of her home. Eyewitnesses captured footage of the car in motion with a figure visible on its bonnet, before the girl subsequently fell and struck her head on the pavement, resulting in critical head injuries.

One neighbour noted hearing a disturbance and witnessing the aftermath of the fall, describing the sight of the injured girl on the ground. Immediate first aid was administered by residents until emergency services arrived, and the victim was transported to Royal Perth Hospital, where she remains in a precarious state.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the mishap, with major crash officers returning to the scene for further inquiries. They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the event or has video footage to come forward. As of now, no charges have been laid concerning this incident.

This incident underscores the dangers associated with reckless behaviour and highlights the crucial nature of public awareness and appropriate responses in emergency situations.
