The accident took place around 10:40 am on Anthony Street in Kingston, involving a white Holden Barina and a red Ford Focus. It is reported that the Ford veered off the road and struck the man, who was on a mobility scooter, leading to his immediate death at the scene.
The 17-year-old driver of the Ford was taken into custody following the crash. Additionally, witnesses claimed that a male and female passenger from the Ford fled the scene on foot. Fortunately, the driver of the Holden Barina emerged unscathed.
