A 42-year-old school teacher has been arrested at Sydney Airport on allegations of sexual assault involving a 15-year-old girl on the Central Coast of New South Wales. The arrest was made following an investigation by Child Abuse Squad detectives, initiated after a report of the assault surfaced on Saturday.
On the evening prior to the arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at a unit in Kincumber, leading to the seizure of a vehicle and several laptops for forensic examination. The arrest occurred around 6.30 pm as the teacher was reportedly attempting to board a flight to South Africa via Perth.
Upon his apprehension, he was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with an extensive list of offences. These include seven counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with minors aged 14 and 16, three counts of intentionally sexually touching children aged 10 and 16, as well as charges related to grooming a child for unlawful sexual activity.
The alleged offences reportedly took place over several occasions in August and September, and bail has been denied. The case has raised significant concerns, highlighting issues surrounding the protection of children within educational environments.
