The prestigious Crown tower penthouse in Barangaroo is poised to change ownership, with a local buyer reportedly ready to purchase the opulent apartment for just under $80 million. The luxurious residence, expansive over two levels and containing six bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, has previously hosted international stars like Taylor Swift and Drake.
Despite its breathtaking 360-degree views of the harbour, the penthouse struggled to attract a buyer willing to pay the hefty price tag. Initially listed at a staggering $100 million when it hit the market in August 2021, it has since seen a notable price reduction.
After being listed with various agents without success, the property was relaunched this year by Steven Chen from The Agency and Luke Hayes from Colliers. Spanning an impressive 849 square metres, the penthouse offers luxurious features including six-metre tall windows, a steam room, a plunge pool overlooking the harbour, a home cinema, a gym, three balconies, and a private internal lift.
Once the sale is completed, it will secure the title of Sydney’s second-most expensive apartment, following the record set in 2019 when a buyer acquired a combined penthouse and sub-penthouse at Lendlease’s One Sydney Harbour for $140 million.
