Three individuals have been arrested in western Sydney for allegedly profiting nearly $10 million from the sale of counterfeit luxury items online. Law enforcement officials claim that this organised criminal network was involved in selling fake designer clothing, watches, shoes, and handbags through social media platforms.
According to investigators, the group managed to funnel approximately $9.75 million through various bank accounts. In a recent operation, police executed three search warrants in Fairfield East, Merrylands, and Guildford, where they reportedly seized a range of assets including nine vehicles valued at around $3 million, over 500 counterfeit luxury items, and $270,000 in cash, along with a gel blaster.
The arrested suspects include a 30-year-old man from Fairfield East, a 33-year-old from Merrylands, and another 30-year-old from Guildford. Each has been charged with several offences, including dealing with the proceeds of crime and association with a criminal group.
All three have been denied bail and are set to appear in court today.
