A tragic incident unfolded in Melbourne, where 30-year-old Ruka Carlson was chased several blocks and subsequently attacked outside the Electric Bar in Prahran around 1:30 am on April 20. Reports indicate that he was violently knifed and kicked during this encounter. Despite the immediate response from paramedics, Carlson succumbed to his multiple stab wounds while en route to the hospital.
Following the incident, a 35-year-old man from Lidcombe, western Sydney, was apprehended at Melbourne Airport the next day. He has since been interviewed by authorities and charged with murder, as well as related offences of affray and assault. The accused is currently remanded in custody and is set to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 4 September. It has been revealed that Carlson and the suspect were acquainted prior to this violent encounter.
Earlier reports from 9News indicated that police are probing whether Carlson brandished a firearm at his assailants inside the Love Machine nightclub before the chase and subsequent stabbing occurred. It is also understood that Carlson had affiliations with outlaw motorcycle gangs, which may be pertinent to the investigation.
