A 47-year-old man was apprehended yesterday around 9.50am during a coordinated operation in a car park located at the intersection of Botany Road and McEvoy Street in Waterloo. The arrest involved the use of a Taser, after which the individual received medical attention from paramedics and was transported to hospital.
Following the arrest, law enforcement executed a search warrant at a property on George Street in Waterloo. During the search, they reportedly confiscated 14 empty vape bottles, 13 pen and marker casings, various wires, switches, USB cables, and power transformers. Authorities assert that these items were intended for the production of illegal devices.
Furthermore, police claimed to have seized six fully operational stun devices, with five allegedly disguised as vape products and one concealed as a permanent marker. The arrested individual has been charged with several offences related to the manufacture and distribution of prohibited weapons. He has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in court today.
