An 18-year-old man is set to face court following his arrest in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on charges related to child abuse material and firearms. The arrest occurred yesterday morning around 7:45 am as part of an ongoing investigation under Strike Force Glandore, which focuses on child exploitation issues.

During a police search at a residence in Matraville, authorities allegedly uncovered a mobile phone containing child abuse material. In addition to this disturbing find, the officers reportedly discovered two gel blasters, two imitation firearms, a slingshot, two rounds of ammunition, and some cannabis at the property.

The young man was subsequently taken into custody and transported to Maroubra Police Station. He has been charged with several offences, including those related to child abuse material, firearms, and drug possession. Following his arrest, he was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in court today.

The investigation continues under the auspices of Strike Force Glandore, highlighting ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat child exploitation and related criminal activities.
